Mmm, since all the J.A.E. students are coming in tomorrow, we're probably gonna have to go through icebreakers again.
And of course, with icebreakers, you'd inevitably get to play the cliched game of "Whack-o".
Hence (hehe, I sound like such a smart ass), I've decided to do a post on the different types of people that you'll meet while playing Whack-o.
Yeah, there are stereotypes.
We play it THAT often.
Oh yeah, before I begin, this list isn't gonna be all encompassing.
I mean, there is the possibility of you fitting into one of the categories that I list out, but don't be surprised if you don't fit into any of the categories.
That just means that you're in the "Normal" category.
Or the "Really, really not normal" category.
You never really know.
Hmm, I guess should probably do a quick explanation of how the game of Whack-o works for those of you unfortunate (or fortunate) enough not to know it.
Okay, so Whack-o starts with a bunch of people who don't really know each other very well sitting around in a circle.
Like so:
Okay, so the black dots are the people that this game is supposed to make you know better. Mmm, they're Whackees.
And the red dot is you.
That sad red dot who got chosen to be the only guy standing up cause you didn't know how to play Whack-o.
So how the game works is that it starts by someone calling a name of a black dot in that circle.
And you, the red dot, being the slave of those black dots have to go "whack" the black dot that the other black dot just called.
Yeah, that's right; you're a hitman.
But here's the catch: If your target calls out some other black dot before you get to him; you'll have to switch over to that target.
Okay, so you basically have to "whack" that person with a rolled up newspaper.
It usually looks like the one in the picture, but the real problem happens when they actually bother to roll it up properly.
Cause then it actually hurts.
A lot.
Let's say that you've succeeded and hit a person that you hardly know with a rolled up newspaper (good job there) before he or she could shout some other person's name.
What happens then is that he or she becomes the new red dot.
And then you get to sit down.
Okay!
Now that you understand the game, hopefully this list would make a little more sense to you.
So there are generally three types of players:
1. The Overly-Enthusiastic-Whacker (OEWs)
2. The Overly-Unenthusiastic-Whackee/r (OUWs)
3. The Screamer (No, I'm not making an acronym for that)
So let's start with the OEWs.
OEWs are basically whackers (yes, I'm calling them that) who are, as the name implies, overly-enthusiastic.
They're the kind of red dot that just runs too fast to his or her target and just plain hits too hard.
While this could be funny to watch, an OEW generally makes the game really awkward.
And really, really scary.
I mean, an OEW does tend to make the game more lively cause people are being forced to shout out the first name off the top of their head but it's really scary.
Like, really, really, scary.

Yupp.
So next up are OUWs.
Once again, the name's pretty self explanatory.
The OUW is the kind of person who for some reason or another, isn't very enthusiastic about the game. Or the about the whole concept of icebreakers sometimes.
What tends to happen goes something like this:
Black Dot: "Uhh THAT OUW!"
OUW: "Oh. Uhh, okay." *Gets whacked*
So then the OUWhakee becomes the OUWhaker.
And they're pretty much the complete opposite of the OEW.
Mmm, think of them as OEWs in super slow motion.
They tend to slow the game down.
And sorta suck the fun out of it.

Okay!
Now for The Screamers!
Once again, the name's pretty self explanatory.
Yeah, I'm pretty good at picking names.
Mmm, Screamers tend to well, scream.
Like, scream A LOT.
Whack-o with them tends to go like this:
Black Dot: "Screamer!"
Screamer: "OHMYGOSH UHH, UHH, AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" *Gets whacked*
Some even scream when they're the Whacker.
Don't ask me how, it just happens.
Contrary to popular belief, Screamers actually tend to make the game more fun.
They're uhh, fun-spitters!
Yeah.
So that's basically it.
Those are the three categories of people that I could think of off the top of my head.
Of course, these categories aren't mutually exclusive or permanent either.
I mean, you could usually be a Screamer, but cause you stayed up late last night (good job there), you could end up being an OUW the next day.
You just never know.
ANYWAYS, hopefully the list helped.
Yeah.
That's it.
